Artist's Description

This is a digital colorized photo of an old B&W photo of Robert Lincoln, son of Abraham Lincoln & is for Bob Galka's contest Photo Art Challenge #12. The glass negative photo is in the Library of Congress ~ Harris & Ewing photographers. The photo is listed as: No known restrictions on publication. This was a real challenge to airbrush specs and to try some color & though took some time yet was fun to learn. I tried to keep this in the browns overall, almost like a sepia, lightly colorized and much like an old photo might be. Thanks Bob Galka for your contests! For those interested in the old and famous this might be nicely added to your collection. This is at a larger size than my other entry. Inquire! Enjoy!

About Mary Armstrong

Horses were among the first subjects I loved to draw so Equine art became my specialty. I have loved the movement and beauty of horses since a young child. Browse my art and you will see other subjects, even some abstracts which I hope you enjoy or comment on. Just email via my website here on FAA. I especially love to show fluid movement, soft and also strong line and color from subtle to strong in most of my art. You might say the colors and lines dance across the paper, board or canvas. Over the years I’ve have sold a variety of paintings and drawings. Many were also a part of commercial or advertising projects during my years as a graphic artist/designer. Education: BFA, Akron Institute of Art & Design / Print and...
